My Health Insurance - December 30, 2007

I have been looking for health insurance recently. I used bupa to get my health insurance quote which came out at a fairly acceptable cost. There were a few comparision sites out there but they didn’t really compare the market and some of the forms seemed very complicated.

The price seemed very reasonable and the service and terms & conditions also seemed acceptable. The Private medical insurance from BUPA seems to be the best available price for me.

The website is also very easy to use and I am quite enjoying the TV adverts BUPA are currently showing. They are simple shapes made out to be people requiring health insurance, medical insurance etc.

Happy New Year - December 29, 2007

Just writing to wish everyone a happy new year. I know its a little early but I’ll be busy on the actual event.

I’d like to hear all your new years revolutions.

My Online Backup - December 20, 2007

iDrive offers upto 2GB of free encrypted online storage or you can get unlimited online storage for $4.95/month. iDrive claims to offer a better speed and performance that other leading online storage providers and I would have to agree. The service quickly met my maximum upload speed and my maximum download speed was also matched very quickly.

The Online Backup from iDrive is encrypted so you have peace of mind when backing up client or personal information that needs to remain secure. Recent enhancements include near real time backup of frequently changing data or CDP (Continuous Data Protection) and the ability to manage multiple accounts from single admin account. iDrive also provides browser access to backed up data with fast search options.

I quite like the online backup service as I very rarely use my pc without it being connected to the net. As I work in th online industry most of the things I use are online based. However the important word and excel documents we have to backup every now and again are easily backed up and I can access them from anywhere which is great! I often backup, but to a local directory connected to our works network. This makes it more secure, however, when I need something Iam usually away from the office.

My New Disclosure Policy - December 17, 2007

I have added a new disclosure policy to the site.

This is to let everyone know that some of my posts are influenced and backed by commercial funds. Although I am honest in them you should always research around the subject and what I write is only my opinion… not fact

Am I Losing My Hair? -

Someone was commenting about their hair loss the other day at work and it got me thinking…

What would I do if I lost my hair?

I was looking around and found this website that offers pre-screened consumer rated hair transplant surgeons in their area. The Hair Loss Specialists have been connecting consumers with highly qualified local hair transplant surgeons since 2001. Hair Loss Specialists is part of the SignatureForum network of consumer websites.

The website seemed easy to use and is something I would certainly review should I be looking for hair transplant. People looking for a hair transplant can take comfort in the fact that these hair transplant surgeons are selected for quality service, and are rated by people just like them. I quite like the rating services currently being applied to most websites that have some form of service offering aggregator. It allows actual people to influence your choice of company rather than the company being able to influence your decision and with something as important as a hair transplant you want to be sure you have made the right choice. There are always different levels of service and quality and you always want to be sure that your getting the best around for the price you can afford.

The website is certainly one you should look at when looking for a hair transplant.

My Cards Are Back! -

I have just reactivated my cards, which was easy! I had lost my cards in my car but they managed hide themselves in a very bizarre place.

Not quite how they got there but hey, there back now.

Bad Credit Options - December 14, 2007

For the americans out there I want to recommend a site that I found when doing some searching last week. With the credit crunch still going on many people with bad credit are struggling to get financial products such as bad credit loans. Bad credit offers allow you to compare most of the US’ top bad credit product suppliers to find the best deal for you.

I’m sure there are a lot of other comparison sites out there that probably do the same thing howeber, I found this site to be easy to use and quick to produce decent results.

I lost my cards -

I lost my credit card wallet today.

I later found it but that was a scary moment.

I used the credit card recovry hotline thing. It was quick and easy to use at the Halifax Bank. Although I found the automated person a little bit condescending.

Car Financing -

I am looking around for a new car at the moment and came across a great website.

The finance centre of the motors today website shows a lot of the information you need to get car finance. The webpage shows the current loan rates of some of the biggest providers of car loans. You can also apply through the website. It gives you a quick and easy glance at all the big lenders rates without having to go through each website individually or using a comparison site that requires personal details and financial backgrounds.

The site also provides information on different car insurance quotes for the different makes and models of car you are looking at. Its a great website and anybody who is looking for car financing I would strongly recommend it to.

HMV’s Gamerbase - December 10, 2007

HMV has launched a technical youth club where 18+ year olds can play hundreds of computer games.

The base has over 70 computers and giant plasma screens. This is the first of its kind in the UK and HMV are expected to roll this out across other stores in an attempt to change itself from just a cd store to a entertainment centre.

The base is in the Trocadero centre which I have no idea where it is but a quick search on Google revealed the centre is in London.

This was described as a gamer heaven and I support the desicion to make it 18+ as I know that young teenagers would use it as a hang out place rather than the serious gaming centre it is meant to be.

I always wondered how a gaming centre would do were one to be launched. I imagined large multiplayer LAN games as the focal point of the centre and would be a good addition to an evenings entertainment.
