Commercial Mortgage Investigation - March 12, 2008

The business I work for helps out other businesses. Mainly we concentrate on the online side of their business but for smaller clients we usually get involved with their whole business. One of the things we are looking into for a UK client of ours is a commercial mortgage. I found a site that provides an extensive comparison service. This isn’t done online as there is so much information and research involved with getting a commercial mortgage in the uk. I have provided the following link: commercial mortgages UK which will take you to the website mentioned.

The quotation service is very comprehensive. Lots of information is required but when the quotes come back they are very competitive. As a broker they will take their cut but the service seems worth it. The website itself is very easy to use. The information is very well layed out and they are easy to get in contact with.

I will be contacting the business to put them in touch with this company. It’s difficult to talk to them because of the time difference but when I put the UK client in touch I will be monitoring the results and I will keep you informed of the outcome.

Car Insurance Salesmen - March 11, 2008

I recently began looking around for car insurance I looked around and signed up to a few sites. Since then I have been bothered lots by car insurance salesmen. I have been trying to get them to stop calling me at work or at home but to no avail. That’s why I will never sign up for those sites again! In the future I will stick to single comparison sites or quotation sites that do not call you back and provide the quotes there and then.

I am looking for insurance as my mine is due for renewal at the end of the month. I have a Chelsea tractor as they are know in the UK and they are becoming increasing taxed and insurance premiums are getting higher by the day.

Many of the insurance companies will call you back. I just wanted an instant quote not someone calling me back. The company I found, bizarrely when searching for van insurance, provide on the spot quotes.

The form is a little complicated but the results are worth it. They guarantee to beat any quote so how can you lose. I suggest you give them a try for all your Car Insurance needs.

IP Tools - March 10, 2008

I am a common user of track ip. One of the tools i use is the track IP tool. The website itself has a lot of useful tools. The blacklist checker is a very useful tool, I sometimes get clients and colleagues asking me about blacklisted domains and IPs and its always very difficult to give an answer. I’m not sure exactly how this tool works but it’s very useful.

I also like the trace email tool which allows you to track an email back to a server. Again this is a very useful tool for identifying spam emails. However a lot of the bigger email marketing companies have to go through strict checks to ensure their mailing list is not only theirs but has been acquired by legal means.

Overall the site offers a good range of tools to do most of the jobs you would want to do around IP addresses. Many of the tools are free and run fairly quickly, the odd time I use them I have delay issues but this is true with most power heavy tools. I haven’t found many ip or domain tools that don’t have a lag. This is mainly down to the fact they are free.

Mortgage Quotes - March 9, 2008

I was again on the trail of a mortgage quote and came across earth. A very interesting domain name for one, i believe they are the company that sponsor st Helens rugby league club but I’m not sure.

The company was endorsed by nick Hancock but it doesn’t seem to mention anything of the sort on their site. Anyway they provided free quotes for Mortgages. I’m still looking for my dream house but it’s always a good idea to get a quote on potential houses I have seen. I’m still renting at the moment since I moved from the UK but I seem to be able to afford a nice level of house over here where as in the UK it’s a big big big struggle to get onto the property ladder.

The current state of the mortgage market is appalling in the UK. First time buyers struggle massively to get onto the property ladder. The current average age of the uk first time buyer is 28!! When the average wage is around 21k and house prices on average 100k it’s no wonder why people find it hard to find a payable mortgage. Services like this can be a big help.

Social Workers - March 8, 2008

Someone was asking me the other day about becoming a social working and what it involves. I haven’t a clue. But I dig a bit of digging and it’s actually quite a complex process. There are multiple exams to be taken and the overall process is a lot more complicated than I first thought. For aid with the social work exam you can buy guides to help you pass. These seemed like a good idea, as with any exam it can be difficult if you’re new to the subject so I thought it was good that there was help out there for the people to understand the laws and regulations around social work.

Mortgage Rates - March 7, 2008

I’ve been looking around at mortgage rates recently and there are so many sites out there doing the same thing of comparing mortgage deals, offers and rates. This makes it very difficult to find exactly what you’re looking for, some claim to offer free quotes, some just online, others you can pay to get quotes for you. I found this website for mortgage rates, simple to use and free, I suggest you check it out if you’re in the market for a new mortgage or just interested in the latest mortgage rates. I will be using it once I find the house I like.

Where to Stay - March 6, 2008

I’m looking at going to London to stay shortly and I am looking for a nice hotel. Ideally around the Leicester square area as this is pretty central and as the company are paying for it I thought i might treat myself and keep the hotel as central as possible.

The boutique hotel london advertised provided London hotel accommodation at a place which was fairly well situated. The website was neat with a 360 degree webcam of Leicester square, allowing you to see just how poor the weather in London is compared to here. It also made me miss my home a bit.

New Wordpress Themes - February 22, 2008

I’m currently on the prowl for some new wordpress themes for mine and several other blogs that my company, clients or I own. There are hundreds and hundreds of wordpress themes sites out there and there is a range of free themes and pay themes available on all these sites. So where do you start.

The advantage of create a wordpress theme is that the designer or company receive a backlink. I have never used this method for any of my clients but it is possible to sponsor wordpress themes in order to gain backlinks for your own site. These themes can also gain designers credibility and publicity should the theme be widely used.

The site started at was wordpresstheme.com, the site is aptly named and came up fairly high is search results. I have had a look through but I’m not interested in paying for one so this site was perfect as it offers free templates. I’m still looking through the collection and I will keep you informed of any choices I make for my clients, company or my blogs. You will see firsthand if I decide I want to change the look of the blog.

Let me know of any useful sites you find.

My Printer Emergency - February 20, 2008

I recently had a printer emergency. I had something that I needed to print urgently, but my printer decided that it didn’t want to tell me that my black ink cartridge had run out or broke. I’m not quite sure why it didn’t tell me but the reason I’m telling you this is because help was at hand.

The aptly named 999Inks provides emergency ink cartridges that come next day. So thanks to them I was able to print the documents off I needed to print and the emergency was over. The site was very easy to use and surprisingly the cartridges were cheaper than what I usually buy. I was looking about not just for next day delivery but an emergency delivery service. It turned out a guy down the corridor had a printer that he would have lent me, so it turns out I didn’t need to panic after all.

Needless to say I was grateful to 999Inks which saved me money on my normal ink cartridges and allowed me to print off the documents I needed for my important meeting. The meeting went very well. It should have been much more stress free but thanks to 999inks it went as smooth as it could have.

Motgage Hike - February 19, 2008

January saw a large increase in mortgage lending. Despite the credit crunch Mortgages were up 11%
This could just be the fact that December is typically a slow month for mortgages and I know from my search experience, January is always a very busy month. I don’t have a client that doesn’t get busy over the January period.
The housing market is currently in turmoil with the credit crunch and a big rise in utility bills such as gas or electric. Moving costs are high and for first time buyers its very difficult to save up the deposits required to secure a mortgage on a acceptable rate.
The 11% increase from December is still lower than most months throughout 2007 and December was one of the lowest months for lending over the past two years.
My opinion on the housing market is that it’s too tough to get into. The UK has it very bad with it almost impossible for average first time buyer able to muster up enough deposit and even once they get a house people only seem to be able to just be able to live in a house with no real life style improvements. A lot of my friends have truggled to get onto the property ladder.
