Sales Calls - February 21, 2008

Poorly trained salesmen keep bothering me. I received notification that a Sales Training company had launched a new website. The mainly deal with corporate clients but it got me thinking whether better trained salesmen would be a good or a bad thing.

Sales training is an essential part of bring sales teams up to scratch, but if everyone was well trained would it be impossible for us to say no. I’m not easily swayed by salesmen, well at least I think and hope I’m not. But if people are easily swayed would a better sales team influence them more. Even cold callers could become good and just stop bothering me with pointless phone calls. Would a better training scheme help those people read the situation better or would it just make it harder to get rid of them. I have two tips for getting rid:

1. Put the phone down – this is a great way to end a phone all quickly. It may seem rude, especially to us well mannered brits but they have bothered you, interrupted your TV or even your tea!
2. If the workplace you can say it’s not your responsibility and you are not authorized to give out the other persons number or just simply say now is not a good time.

My Annoying Day -

Today I was bothered by no less than 4 telephone calls from sales people.

I’m less than happy, people wanting to know if my fridge is running or if I am interested in saving on phone bills.

When I’m ready to shop I’ll come to you.

Just leave me alone!!!

Meet The Neighbours - January 24, 2008

The apartment i’m in is very friendly…

A few people have nipped round to say hi and others have seen me in the car park and also said a quick hi.

Others have brought fruit baskets round, which is not really a British thing so its very weird thing to have to respond to.

Am I Losing My Hair? - December 17, 2007

Someone was commenting about their hair loss the other day at work and it got me thinking…

What would I do if I lost my hair?

I was looking around and found this website that offers pre-screened consumer rated hair transplant surgeons in their area. The Hair Loss Specialists have been connecting consumers with highly qualified local hair transplant surgeons since 2001. Hair Loss Specialists is part of the SignatureForum network of consumer websites.

The website seemed easy to use and is something I would certainly review should I be looking for hair transplant. People looking for a hair transplant can take comfort in the fact that these hair transplant surgeons are selected for quality service, and are rated by people just like them. I quite like the rating services currently being applied to most websites that have some form of service offering aggregator. It allows actual people to influence your choice of company rather than the company being able to influence your decision and with something as important as a hair transplant you want to be sure you have made the right choice. There are always different levels of service and quality and you always want to be sure that your getting the best around for the price you can afford.

The website is certainly one you should look at when looking for a hair transplant.

Nectar Sold - December 5, 2007

The company who runs the Nectar points loyalty scheme has been sold. The total cost was £368 million.

Sir Keith Mills, who founded the company will pocket around £160 million from the sale. Sir Keith also set-up the Air miles brand which also sold for a large sum of money.

I love the nectar points scheme, I mainly collect on petrol from BP and have used it to gain free entry into theme parks, alton towers being one of my favourites.
